Evan is responsible for maintaining and improving GLP's Linux and Unix server infrastructure, planning for future infrastructure and technology, and forming overall technology strategies. He also monitors, analyzes, and reports usage data for GLP web sites.
Prior to joining the GLP team, Evan was the Unix systems engineer for AED's Information Technology department. He worked in AED's IT department in various roles for five years. During college, he was the helpdesk manager and a Linux systems administrator. Evan has over 11 years of Unix and Linux experience, having worked with various Linux distributions and several releases of Sun's Solaris. He also has extensive knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
Evan earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Grinnell College, where he focused on research design and social psychology. He has studied computer science for 8 years, and has used computers since he was three. He holds the ITIL v2 Foundation certification in Information Technology Service Management.
Evan is interested in finding the balance between design and function through the visual display of data. He also enjoys sculpture, cycling and rock climbing.
