Academy for Educational Development (AED)
AED is committed to solving critical social problems in the areas of health, education, youth development, and the environment in the United States and throughout the world through education, training, social marketing, and policy analysis. As part of this mission, AED is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the Global Learning Portal.

BluMail
BluMail is a global free email and make-a-difference content portal for youth coming online in developing countries. GLP signed a MOU with BluMail in 2009. The intent of the MOU is to work with BluMail in strengthening its education section, bring new members and users to both parties, and make people aware of the programs and activities of GLP for teachers, educators and youth around the globe.
Committee for Economic Development (CED)
CED is non-profit, non-partisan business led public policy organization. GLP signed a MOU with CED in February 2009 to foster efforts to expand business engagement and advocacy for the Africa Education Commons (AEC), to bring business thinking and involvement to the GLP Alliance and to identify opportunities for CED and its counterparts to expand African engagement, education advocacy, and membership in the International Private Sector Business Network.
Education International (EI)
EI represents over 29 million teachers and other education workers through 338 member organizations in 161 countries. EI and GLP have committed to a strategic partnership to use the portal to connect and provide resources to EI affiliates.
Global Text
The Global Text Project publishes electronic text books for university students under a Creative Commons License and encourages faculty and students to continuously improve these texts through the use of Student Quality Circles. GLP has signed a MOU with Global Text for collaboration and information exchange in order to provide educators in developing countries with quality, relevant electronic textbooks.
International Reading Association (IRA)
The International Reading Association (IRA) is a professional organization for those involved in teaching reading to learners of all ages. IRA and the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) host an Education Community on GLP about the development of cultures of literacy.
Liferay, Inc.
Liferay, Inc. develops open source portal solutions that can be integrated with many different systems and applications. GLP entered into a strategic partnership with Liferay to promote open source portal technology for educational development and in September 2007 migrated to a new portal platform powered by Liferay technologies.
Oracle Education Foundation
The Oracle Education Foundation is an independent, philanthropic organization funded by Oracle Corporation. They promote global collaborative learning through partnerships with schools, government agencies, other nonprofits and NGOs internationally. In December 2006, Oracle signed an MOU with GLP to exchange technical expertise and provide support for initiatives in math and science education.
Sun Microsystems
Sun Microsystems, one of the premier computer hardware and software companies in the world, is committed to leveraging the power of technology to strengthen education worldwide. Sun partnered with the Global Learning Portal by providing the computer hardware to deliver GLP services to GLP members around the globe.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
UNESCO promotes international cooperation among its 191 Member States and six Associate Members in the fields of education, science, culture and communication. UNESCO and GLP signed an MOU in August 2006 to collaborate on a variety of educational projects.
USAID
USAID is an independent federal government agency that receives overall foreign policy guidance from the Secretary of State. USAID works to support long-term and equitable economic growth and to advance United States foreign policy objectives by supporting efforts to improve economic growth, agricultural production, health, democracy, humanitarian assistance, and education. USAID provides the primary funds for the GLP.
Widernet
The WiderNet Project,a program at the University of Iowa that works to improve digital communication in developing countries, developed the eGranary Digital Library, a 750 GB hard drive with more than ten million educational resources from over 1,000 websites. The GLP and the WiderNet Project plan to integrate the eGranary into education projects in countries such as Zambia, Rwanda and Afghanistan.
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation is concerned with solving social and environmental problems. In August 2006, GLP received a significant grant from the Hewlett Foundation for the continued operation and expansion of the portal
