“Education from a Gender Equality Perspective” is designed to assist education programmers in better designing, managing, and evaluating education projects. This paper presents a framework for addressing gender equality in education, focusing on four dimensions: access, the learning process, educational outcomes, and external results. The four dimensions of the framework provide planners with a systematic way of addressing the components necessary for ensuring a relevant, high quality education for all learners. The framework addresses key issues in education such as access, quality, continuity, achievement, and relevance. Sections on each of the four dimensions include concrete activities that can be implemented as part of an overall strategy to achieve gender equality in education. In addition to presenting the framework, the paper presents topics such as the relationship between education quality and gender equality and the distinction between parity and equity.
