Great ways to celebrate International Literacy Day

• Examine the UNESCO Institute for Statistics' International Literacy Statistics: A Review of Concepts, Methodology and Current Data report for an overview of progress, both substantively and in terms of measurement, since the last literacy UNESCO statistics on literacy report in 1995.

• Encourage reading at your school with International Literacy Day Suggested Activities and Events.

• Listen to stories, fairy tales, myths and histories being read aloud at Storynory.

• Discover new methods and strategies have been used to develop literacy:
